The Role of Quantum Computing in the Development of Future Information Systems

Abstract

The rapid evolution of information systems demands increasingly advanced computational capabilities to manage large-scale, complex, and dynamic data. Quantum computing has emerged as a transformative paradigm that offers new possibilities beyond the limitations of classical computing. This article aims to examine the role of quantum computing in the development of future information systems. The research method employed is a literature review, analyzing scientific publications, reference books, and recent research reports related to quantum computing and information systems. The findings indicate that quantum computing has the potential to significantly enhance the performance of information systems, particularly in areas such as data processing, optimization, security, and decision support systems. Furthermore, the integration of quantum computing with classical information system architectures may enable more efficient and intelligent system designs. However, several challenges remain, including technological maturity, system scalability, data integration, and the availability of skilled human resources. Therefore, continuous research and strategic development are essential to ensure the effective adoption of quantum computing in future information systems.
