Abstract

Cloud computing has become a fundamental component in the evolution of enterprise systems, enabling organizations to achieve scalability, flexibility, and cost efficiency in managing their information technology resources. By leveraging cloud-based infrastructure, platforms, and software services, enterprises can enhance operational performance and accelerate digital innovation. This study presents a conceptual review of cloud computing in enterprise systems by exploring its core concepts, potential benefits, challenges, and strategic opportunities discussed in existing literature. The research employs a qualitative literature review approach, examining academic journals, books, and reputable publications related to cloud technology and enterprise information systems. The findings indicate that cloud computing offers significant advantages such as resource optimization, improved collaboration, and rapid system deployment. However, issues related to data security, privacy, vendor lock-in, compliance, and integration complexity remain major concerns for organizations. This conceptual study provides a theoretical understanding that can guide enterprises in adopting cloud computing strategies and serve as a reference for future empirical research.
