Abstract

Learning Management Systems (LMS) have become essential platforms in modern education, supporting the delivery, management, and evaluation of teaching and learning activities. By enabling online course content distribution, communication, assessment, and learning analytics, LMS platforms play a significant role in enhancing educational effectiveness and accessibility. This study presents a conceptual review of the role of Learning Management Systems in modern education by synthesizing theoretical perspectives and findings from existing literature. The research adopts a qualitative literature review approach, examining academic journals, books, and reputable publications related to LMS and educational technology. The study highlights how LMS contribute to flexible learning environments, improved instructional management, and enhanced student engagement. However, challenges such as user acceptance, system usability, digital literacy gaps, and infrastructure limitations remain critical issues in LMS implementation. This study provides a theoretical foundation that can guide educators and institutions in effectively leveraging Learning Management Systems to support modern educational practices.
